Miami Heat center and the ‘Bam, Books, and Brotherhood’ foundation recently unveiled a newly designed basketball court and fitness center at the Chapman Partnership homeless assistance center.
Miami Heat All-Star center Bam Adebayo and his foundation ‘Bam, Books, and Brotherhood’ recently held an event.
Adebayo and the foundation spent the day serving others. The event was capped off by donating a newly designed basketball court and fitness center to the Chapman Partnership Homestead location.
The two-time All-Star big man began the event by spending nearly an hour interacting with the community and taking pictures with everyone.
He then moved to the fitness center, where he tried out the new equipment. Following this, Adebayo held push-up competitions against many of the kids. He was amazed at the fact that some of the kids performed over 30 pushups prior to cutting the ribbon.
The most excitement of the day came on the basketball court. The Chapman Partnership thanked Adebayo for his work: “Bam is a great athlete, but he's an even better person." Two of the children wrote short, heartfelt speeches. They called him their hero and an inspiration.
The event concluded with Adebayo receiving a plaque and mural, which he loved. The ribbon of the court was cut, leading to the children's happiness exploding.
As the Heat's regular season opener is less than a week away, it's a pleasure to see Adebayo serving the community.
